Orbiting the Dollar
I bled ideas into sleepless nights
Cut the frame perfect, chased the light
Every word weighed, every sound precise
Still the numbers whisper: not worth the price
I fed the machine my time and soul
It smiled politely, then swallowed me whole
Somewhere a cat just closed its eyes
And the world stood still in a million likes
I asked the screen, “What do you want?”
It said, “Nothing real, just something you flaunt”
I made something honest, deep, and raw
It made me invisible by law
A yawning cat, a pointless stare
Turns dust to gold in open air
They say “Create,” but what they mean
Is “Pay to exist inside this screen”
Tell me, if money fuels the sun
Is meaning dead when profit’s won?
The platform sells me borrowed hope
A credit card and a tighter rope
“Boost your voice, be heard today”
Translation: rent your worth, don’t ask, just pay
Brands sell dreams, creators comply
Viewers buy things they don’t need to survive
Ads scream louder than truth can breathe
Work to buy, buy to work, repeat
Every click a silent vow
To keep the system sacred now
I made something honest, deep, and raw
It made me invisible by law
The algorithm kneels to none
Except the weight of paid-in funds
They call it freedom, call it fair
But reach is sold like vacant air
So tell me who’s the parasite?
The system, or the ones who fight?
Bridge (Dark & Philosophical)
Money isn’t evil, they like to say
It just decides who gets a day
Who gets a voice, who fades to black
Who gets remembered, who cracks
We don’t worship gods, we worship rate
Engagement, growth, the numbers dictate
If value can’t be monetized
It quietly gets euthanized
Is money the center?
Or just the gravity?
Pulling every dream
Into the same damn cavity
I’ll keep creating in the dark
Leaving scars where they sell sparks
If truth can’t trend, so let it rot
I won’t beg the gods of slots
One day the cat will wake and fade
The silence outlives what money paid
When all the orbits finally end
What will remain The cash, or what we meant?
Refresh.
Scroll.
Pay.
Repeat.
